Thank you for the organisation of our wonderful cycle tour and also the cycling jersey’s. We will be wearing them in the hope of encouraging others to use your company.

You asked for negative feedback and so Emily and I spent some time trying to come up with some improvements. Unfortunately we couldn’t think of much to report. Our issues were mainly about the difference in cycling skill between Emily and I. Where I might have wanted less vehicle time and was happy on more difficult trails, she preferred the rest during the transit sections and wide easy paths.

I found having Danny as a guide was wonderful. He is a very intelligent and interesting young man and we had lots of great conversations around religion, food, culture, cycling etc. It is very valuable when you are travelling with a guide for a number of days if you can ask questions and get well considered answers. Some of our other Vietnam travel experiences with guides less capable in English were more difficult as they have a set amount of information to communicate but can’t answer questions.

The accommodation was great and we really enjoyed the lunch and coffee stops where Danny introduced us to specific dishes.

The only thing that maybe would be worth considering is maybe some more information about what gear to bring such as bike pants, jersey and rain jacket etc. ( maybe you do have this information and I missed it)

So thank you again for a wonderful cycling experience.

Ms Linh was truly the perfect tour guide so knowledgeable and kind. She took such good care of us and the tour couldn’t have been better. Everything was so amazing. Mr Qui did an outstanding job as well. We were so honoured and felt so blest to meet some of his family and the lunch was truly amazing. After such a large lunch they brought out the hammocks and we had a little siesta. That time at Mr Qui’s home will remain a top highlight of our trip. Mr Bot our driver always had cold cloths and cold drinks and fresh fruit ready for us. He was fantastic. Your staff are over and above professional and kind thank you so much.

We checked in to our Hoi An hotel a little while ago. Big thank you from the girls and me for such a fantastic experience. Mike/Thien was a wonderful guide, giving excellent directions, knowing when to take breaks and when to carry on, very hospitable with food and rest, knew and explained local culture well and above all ensured we had a safe and enjoyable ride. Mr. Thuc was also a great support with the van. We had such a great time we hope to come back for a longer ride maybe in the winter sometime.

Thank you so much for your email and I do apologize for the delay in responding. Yes, we enjoyed a few relaxing days in Nha Trang and once we got home, it was go go go to catch up on everything in our business that had been happening while we were away.

From all of us, thank you, we had an amazing tour and would highly recommend you to anyone. Whilst both Sum and Phuc have different styles of touring, we enjoyed our time with both of them, not to mention the crews who work alongside them, they are all so helpful.

We really don't have any criticisms but I've put a couple of things below that may have worked better but honestly, they are simply observations from our perspective and by no means are they a criticism of the tour. I cannot emphasize enough how much we enjoyed ourselves.

Hosted Dinners - when Sum or Phuc had to host dinner with us, we felt a bit sorry for them. Once we have chatted and got to know them a bit, there is not a lot more to talk about and as we are a group of friends, we then just chat away and I'm sure they would rather be with their crew (driver, mechanic etc).

Menus - the included dinners were usually set menu but we could never manage to eat all the food. The cost would probably be less for you if we all just enjoyed a light appetizer and then a main of our choice. Maybe a street food tour is a better option than sitting down in a Restaurant. Our group certainly enjoy being out and about walking the streets and enjoying all that Cambodia & Vietnam have to offer.

But honestly, there are very small things and might totally work with a different group.

We want to explore Vietnam in the north one day so will certainly be in contact with you to assist us with a cycling journey in the North.

Firstly, this trip was exactly what we were hoping to do, so we were thrilled to find a local company hiring local guides - excellent bikes, van support, and information provided (9 days from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City). Unfortunately, I was very sick for the portion of riding in Cambodia but our guide Art and driver Sye were very kind and supportive. I had to ride in the support van while my partner rode - but we both got to see beautiful temples, back roads, small towns, and rice paddies. Art was friendly and helpful and the accommodations and meals were fantastic.
For our Vietnam portion - we were handed off to a Vietnamese guide and driver. Bao truly made our trip special in so many ways. We cycled on a variety of roads, very rural to small towns to small cities. Riding through narrow roads connected us to the people and the land in a very beautiful way. We stopped at many different small businesses (brick making, coconut rope making, etc.) and Bao translated questions so we could understand local lifestyles. The people were so friendly, accepting, and curious. The scenery was lush and beautiful and we took small ferries to cross the braiding waterways of the Mekong River delta. We really enjoyed Bao’s positive energy, pride in his Vietnamese heritage, willingness to answer all questions, and support in restaurants. The food was great and all of the accommodations were very nice. We were grateful to learn about Vietnam’s past and impressed by these resilient people. We have only positive things to say about this trip. :) 02 - 10 February 2025

This was one of the best-managed cycling tours I have experienced, particularly the Vietnam segment. Ms. Linh and her team provided exceptional support throughout, guiding us seamlessly through the routes and offering insightful commentary on the cultural significance of various stops. Beyond her expertise as a guide, Ms. Linh is also an outstanding cyclist, whose enthusiasm and encouragement inspired us to push our limits.

The Cambodia portion of the trip was well handled by Mr. Sum and his team, though there were some logistical challenges, including last-minute hotel changes and an issue with an incorrect bike. Additionally, scheduling rides in 36-degree heat after lunch was less than ideal; adjusting the itinerary to complete the majority of cycling before midday would enhance the overall experience.

Despite these minor setbacks, the tour was an incredible experience, offering a unique and immersive way to explore Vietnam and Cambodia. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to discover these two countries from a different perspective.

With regards to the Jersey sizes, we've also learned a few things about clothing sizes. From local clothing purchases we've made, we've had to buy clothes that are 2 sizes larger. It seems a North American Size M is a Vietnam XL. It seems the bike jerseys are a 3 size difference. We are in Ho Chi Minh city until Sunday. Would the https://www.saigonbikeshop.com/en have 3XL shirts that I could swap my jersey with?

Your tour guides and driver support were excellent, both in Cambodia and in Vietnam.

We loved it!! Will definitely leave 5* reviews on Trip Advisor and Google. Everything was great! Trying to think of what you guys to do to improve and there really isn’t that much.

The E-bikes didn’t have bottle holders which was a slight inconvenience. If you cannot add some, just let people know so they can bring a hydration backpack.

Just so you know, you no longer need passport photos at the boarder with Cambodia. They now have cameras and they take your photo as you go through passport control. Both Vien and the driver were fantastic! They made our trip! The car was great and even had WiFi which was very handy!!!

Our guide and driver were great. The back office needs lots of improvement. Booked a hotel with no pool in 36 degree weather, and it was an absolute pre requisite from us and we were assured that all hotels had pools. 09 - 12 February 2025

We had a wonderful time and appreciate you reaching out to us. I loved that the guide tailored the tour to suit our riding ability and also loved the food - Lihn was very mindful that I am vegetarian and we had some of the best meals on our holiday with her. The driver of our support van was so lovely and kind - he worked very hard to make sure that our bikes were ready and always had fresh water and clean wipes when we got back to the car.

My only feedback for improvement is that it would be good for the guide to carry a basic first aid kit in her bag (antiseptic, bandages etc) and for there to be a more substantial first aid kit in the support van.

Hi Lam,

We had a wonderful trip. Vien, especially, really went out of his way to show us the local food, and we felt very taken care of in terms of cycling with him as our guide. Our driver was lovely too!

Our general feeling was that each day was somehow better than the last. Highlights were eating crickets, swimming, and the scenery on the last two days. We have no complaints so I’m not sure what I could suggest for improvements.

Great trip with cycling led by Mr Bao through the Mekong Delta. This has to be the best way to truly experience Vietnam with excellent guidance and local knowledge.

Xin chao Lam, I’m Maurice’s wife and wanted to give you some feedback.

Simply put: It was magnificent!

Let’s start with the Vietnam portion.

Hoang and Hung were superb guides and people. Hoang, as the lead guide, was especially excellent, but both were great. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, warm, cheerful, flexible, helpful, fun, interesting to talk to and interested in us. If we mentioned something that we were curious about they’d follow up whenever that was possible, for example, getting us jackfruit and banana flower to eat. As bike guides they were flawless — everything always went so smoothly and their navigation was great. We always felt safe with them, even if there was traffic … or a broken-down bridge they helped us get ourselves and our bikes over! Hoang’s English was advanced and very easy to understand. Hung’s was very good too, and he was very funny, and we told him we knew he’d make a great lead guide. Their personalities were just a joy. at.

The cultural stops were so interesting, and Hoang never grew tired of our questions, and usually could tell us more about everything we experienced. He did all the necessary translating at the cultural stops.

The drivers were both so friendly and helpful and warm, even though they spoke very little English. They fed us snacks, gave us hand wipes, filled our water bottles before we’d even asked — they spoiled us, all with good humor.

We felt very supported by the whole team.

The Cambodia portion was good, but not as wonderful.

Poleak and Kong were both very pleasant and sweet and always willing to help us. Poleak’s navigation was great on many complicated routes.

But language was a bit of a weak point. While Poleak has an extensive English vocabulary, we often had to ask him to repeat himself because we didn’t understand what he’d said, due to his accent or his phrasing. And Kong spoke so little English that when we were near him, we gave up asking him to explain anything we saw and asked about — he couldn’t understand us. He seemed to be there mainly to be the “sweep,” the person in back who makes sure nobody gets lost. Poleak was very good at improvising stops when there was something interesting, like when we went by a group that was using a machine to separate the rice from the chaff, and he stopped and talked to them and explained the process to us (and some of us helped a bit with bagging the rice.)

The drivers were very pleasant and helpful.

We did have a couple of minor logistical glitches (the wrong hotel … ) but Poleak did a good job setting things right, without getting stressed out.

As for other feedback:

I had trouble with my bike in Cambodia. The first day, I thought there was drag, and after awhile, asked for it to be checked. The brakes were scraping and slowing me down. They fixed it. But the day we went up the mountain to the Bokor National Park — the long, steep ride — I was struggling a lot. I kept thinking that since they’d fixed the bike, it must’ve been just me. But finally, after finishing up and down the major hill, way behind everyone, I said I really need the bike checked again — I felt like I as going uphill even when I was on a flat road. So yes, the brakes were dragging me down again! It was a very hard day.

Something more general: All of us in our group don’t normally stay in such fancy hotels and huge meals, and really don’t need or want that level of luxury. We would’ve preferred more modest hotels and meals … and lower prices.

Also, while the drivers were a nice part of the team, there could be cost-cutting for the customer there too. Maurice and I did a couple of guided bike trips in Spain and Croatia, and they had one guide, one driver. The van had racks on top to handle the bikes for transport, and a spare bike or two, and room for our luggage.

I don’t know if this could be any different on this particular trip, but it was a bit frustrating to have to spend so much time in the van on some days. It didn’t leave us any time in the later afternoons to explore the places we were in. Bike, van, shower, dinner, sleep … Next day bike, van, shower, dinner, sleep …

Overall:

The routes VNCT planned, and locations and the special stops, were really good, the staff was helpful and pleasant and ranging from good to excellent. The crew helped with our luggage all the time even though we’re all used to handling our own. We always felt they had our needs at the top of their list, and were always so good-natured about it. Meals were great: varied and actually too plentiful — we never could finish everything. The descriptions of the itinerary were very good. The bikes were very good aside from my problem, the helmets in Vietnam very good but mine in Cambodia didn’t fit me quite as well, the straps were quite dirty and we had no visors.

We are already highly recommending our trip with you!

Yes, we’re back home after 4 wonderful weeks in Vietnam/Cambodia. And your cycling trip was a big part of it.

Just about everything about the cycling trip was wonderful. The guides were excellent (especially the ones in Vietnam - but your Cambodian guides were also very good), and we especially appreciated the opportunities they gave us as we cycled to meet local people and learn about their culture. The guides and your drivers did a wonderful job at making sure we had water and at keeping us fueled with snacks. All of the hotels were first rate. Meals were generally very good (there was one restaurant in Cambodia that seemed to have a very limited menu and we asked Poleak if he could find another - which he did), and there was always plenty to eat.

A few suggestions:

1) The one issue that I was not happy about was the quantity and length of some of the van transfers (as much as 3 hours a day). I have done other cycling trips (Spain, Croatia), where we did not have such long transfers. As a result, we would finish cycling earlier in the day (around 3 pm), and have time to relax, nap, or explore the city we were in for a few hours. With the long transfers on this trip we didn’t have that opportunity. I realize that you are limited by where you can find suitable hotels, etc., but if the quantity/length of transfers were reduced it would improve the overall experience.
2) We visited 2 floating villages on this trip, one in Vietnam and one in Cambodia. The one in Cambodia was far superior and far more authentic, whereas the one in Vietnam seems to exist only for tourists. I would consider eliminating the Vietnam floating village from the itinerary.

Overall, the cycling trip was excellent, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company to any friends planning a trip to Vietnam!

Weather did not co-operate. The people of Vietnam are lovely and kind, gentle and warm. The countryside is beautiful. Our guide Mr. Vien was very attentive to our needs. We learned so much from him about Vietnam and its people. Such a great experience. Every hotel was very accommodating with amazingly attentive staffs. Other than the weather the trip was perfect. 08 - 15 December 2024
