Vietnam Cycling Tours' team will pick you up at your accommodation at 7:30 am and take you away from the buzz of Hanoi into the lush valley of Mai Chau. Stop for a coffee break and enjoy stunning Thung Khe Pass views! Upon arriving at Poom Coong Village, we ride through stilted villages and experience villagers' lives in the mountain region. You break at the home of the White/Black Thai minority and enjoy a delightful lunch. In the afternoon, you will explore the scenic villages of Lac and Mai Ha, encounter stunning views, weaving children under their stilted houses along the villages, many kids playing in the streams, and farmers at work in the fields with their water buffalo. Visit local homes, see skilled local weavers working at their looms, and experience the traditional customs of ethnic minorities in the valley of Mai Chau.
In the late afternoon, we'll transfer an hour to Pu Luong.
Pu Luong Natural Reserve is one of the country's ecotourism destinations. It is a hidden paradise for hiking and trekking, with a fantastic network of off-the-beaten-track trails. Hike to explore the rustic hamlets nestled along hillsides. Kho Muong hamlet offers verdant valleys and harmonious landscapes, while Don village has nearly 100 traditional stilted homes. Hieu Hamlet is one of the great locations for those who love to spend peaceful nights at local homes right by the stream, a lush valley surrounded by pristine forested mountains and not far from it's waterfalls. Engage with villagers in their daily activities and enjoy stunning landscapes, lush rice terraces, bamboo waterwheels along the streams, and shadow waterfalls, and Pho Doan tribal market. This is a fabulous day to experience and learn about Pu Luong village life, wet rice cultivation, handicraft-making traditions, and distinctive wooden stilt houses.
After lunch at the local restaurant, our vehicles will transfer you back the hotel. The rest of the day is in the pool.
After breakfast, we take a 3-hour shuttle to Ninh Binh, where we have lunch at one of the best restaurants. After lunch, we'll continue the day to explore Tam Coc, Bich Dong, and Hoa Lu. The major highlights in Ninh Binh are relatively close to each other, such as Mua Cave, Tam Coc, Trang An, and Hoa Lu- the capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1009. The best way to explore the highlight sites and its fantastic countryside is to combine activities: cycling and boat paddling.
Embarking on a cycling adventure in Ninh Binh is a unique pleasure. As you pedal, you'll be treated to the sight of beautiful rice fields, small rivers, towering limestone cliffs, and rural villages where buffalo and goats roam freely. This is a journey that promises unforgettable experiences. Rowing sampan paddling gives us the best moment: Enjoy stunning scenery as the sampan boat moves slowly on peaceful rivers that snake through cave formations, and farmers tend their fields amongst limestone mountains. We'll conclude the ride at Hoa Lu, the ancient capital, and hop on a shuttle to transfer you back to Ha Noi in the late evening. Tour Ends!
