Be met at your hotel in Saigon at 7:30 am, and you will travel by road from Ho Chi Minh City to the Tam Binh, outskirts of Cay Lay, where your beautiful ride to Vinh Long is. You will soon find yourself amongst the Ngu Hiep island after riding on the new island bridge. Ride at your own pace through lush farmlands of many kinds of tropical fruits, and you can find one of these you do not like at all is durian fruits; you can taste the others instead.

The Ngu Hiep island offers fertile soils, so the islands are covered with lush green fruit trees and bonsai gardens along the scenic villages.  We padel well-maintained paths, ride along the Mekong River, experience the local culture of locals, visit the home of locals and small markets, and escape the island with another small ferry to Tan Phong island.  Tan Phong is a beautiful island with, small charming town, and the fruit crouching market opens in the early morning only.

Many local homes are small friendly homestays for travellers who love to stay a couple of days in peaceful rural villages. We explore the island on small paths, pass some beautiful hamlets. After 5 km, we relax on the next ferry to Phu Phung village, enjoy dirt track cycling long the waterways to Binh Hoa Phuoc, and we enjoy large lunch booked by locals. Taste Vietnamese coffee, fresh fruits and continue biking along the lively river Cai Cuong Ancient house. It's one of the Mekong typical ancient in the Mekong Delta. Take a short break, visit the place, admire the old structure designed, carry on the ride, pass schools, markets, vibrant villages. You bike to An Binh island with water channels, and the busiest waterway through the island is Dong Phu canals. We continue biking through the island to An Binh Ferry Dock and enjoy today's last ferry to Vinh Long town. Take a rest, rest your legs on the vehicle driving to Can Tho.

Can Tho City is the Capital City of Vietnam's Mekong Delta Region and is famous for its bustling floating market. Take a boat trip to the busiest floating market. The market is the highlight of today's activities. Hundreds of boats gather to trade agricultural products, which are from other provinces in the delta.

After breakfast, take a 40-minute boat trip from Ninh Kieu Pier to Cai Rang. Watch hundreds of small boats exchange farm products, from boat to boat. The boat will get through the floating market slowly, so all things on your sight. Every boat has a long upright pole at its bow on which samples of the goods for sale hung on the bamboo sticks with bananas, pineapple, sweet potatoes, watermelons, and so on.

Disembark your boat for a short transfer to the other side of Hau Giang River to Binh Minh for a half-day ride. We cycle through the vast rice paddy fields, explore the Khmer villages, and stop visiting some colourful Khmer temples, and the small workshop produces hats, handbags, indoor sandals, and bins, all made from water hyacinths. We end up the ride in Tam Binh, lunch en-route before returning to Saigon by vehicle. Tour End!

Dates

Currently, this tour have no schedule, yet.

The guide was very good. The itinerary was fantastic to know people, landscape and rural life. In my opinion view the life cost in Vietnam the price of the tour is too much. Maybe, if you lower the price more people could join and do this tour. 05 January 2018

Alessia Berdoz…

Hi Van.

Apologies for the late reply. And thank you very much for the good wishes. We had a safe and easy flight back home and we're a bit sad that our great trip in Vietnam is over... I just got an email from Lam that our payment has been transferred to you. I think that you won't need the transfer receipt anymore from me then.
Thanks to you and your organization for the very enjoyable trip in the Mekong Delta. We had a lot of fun! All the best, Matthias. Mekong Bike Tours 09 - 10 June, 2022

Sarah and Matt…

Sorry for replying so late, it's been quite busy here😅.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the bike tour with Linh. In my eyes, she is an excellent tour guide in many ways!
First of all, we really enjoyed her wonderful company! Of course, also her great knowledge about the region and the culture in general. In addition, her leadership skills: she adapts very well to our pace and is very flexible to meet our needs. My wife had a problem with motion sickness and Linh took very good care of her and even organized medication. We are so glad we met her, I can say we made a friend!
We would also like to thank you for making this possible on such short notice!
Two things I would like to tell you for improvement.
Firstly, the driver's driving style was unpleasant. We communicated it and he made an effort for a while, but only a few minutes later he fell back into his usual driving style. Specifically: he closed up very close, overtook in rather tricky situations and jerkily switched from accelerating to braking to accelerating, etc. (The speed, however, was appropriate).
I know that in this wonderful country people have a different driving style. The driver also tried really hard and was very friendly and didn't drive too fast. I also think that from a general Vietnamese perspective, the driver drove well, as far as I can tell. But if you want to chauffeur tourists from my country, you have to drive more smoothly, mor economically and more patiently.
Secondly, my wife's bike was unfortunately a bit too small, the handlebars a bit too narrow for her. No big deal, but still I would like to mention it.
Despite these points, it was a really great experience to do this tour with you, which I will highly recommend!
Thank you and have a great time, we wish you all the best! 22 - 23 February 2023
