Cao Lanh - Gieng Island - Chau Doc

In the morning, we explore the wetland of the Mekong Delta and Giang island in An Giang province. Most of the removed village's houses are stilt-houses and built by local materials. This is the way we experience the life of locals through stilt-houses along the country roads. Stop at a crouching market at conners in rural where locals pass by. Enjoy the Mekong river's scenery on ferry boats, explore the islands, explore the peaceful, seemingly undiscovered Gieng island and its rustic villages. Cu Lao Gieng is considered one of the largest and oldest parishes in the Mekong Delta. Spend time to experience local culture, and ride past the Catholic monastery. Take some photos of the Monastery complex, visit one of the beautiful Roman churches on Gieng island.

We escape the island on the new bridge, looking over the catfish farms on the river—afterwards, a-30 minute transfer to Cho Moi for lunch. We explore the charming villages in the afternoon, pass many pagodas, verdant vegetation, and some hamlets along Bassac River, with many catfish farmings. We wander through villages along Bassac River, passing Cham Muslim community, scenic towns, take a ferry to Chau Doc.
