After breakfast, we’ll set out on a cycling journey to discover the everyday life of locals in the Champasak area. This scenic ride offers the chance to experience the serene beauty of the Lao countryside, with views of flourishing rice fields, gentle mountains, and traditional villages.
Follow the red trail from the center of Champasak, passing through three rural villages: Ban Tai, Ban Houay Sa Houa, and Ban Houay Khor. The route concludes about 12 km before reaching the Vat Phu complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of southern Laos’ most important historical treasures. Continuing south on mostly flat terrain, cycle toward Sukuma town, where you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, cross the Mekong River by ferry to reach Ban Nong Hue village. From here, continue cycling to the designated pick-up point for your transfer to Don Khong, the largest island in the famous “4000 Islands” region of the Mekong. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to relax at your hotel.
