We start the day heading out of Pakse, riding south to Champasak town, a little-known village on the banks of the Mekong River. Here, we have lunch in the afternoon and visit the Wat Phou temple, cycling around a Khmer Hindu temple complex that dates to the 5th Century. Today, it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the location for the ancient city of Shestrapura. Finally, we’ll head to our hotel for an evening of relaxation.
