Pakse - Bolaven Plateau – Tad Fane

We’ll start cycling up to the Bolaven Plateau. First, we will stop at a small village, famous for bamboo basket weaving and blacksmithing for making knives. We spend some time there to see how knives are made by hand using their traditional techniques before climbing into the temperate coffee-growing area, well known for its Arabica and Robusta beans.

These beans command some of the highest coffee prices worldwide today and provide an excellent source of income for the local community. The road undulates, giving a definite upward feeling; however, it is of a gentle riding nature and a welcome challenge after the predominantly flat lands of the past few days. As we climb, we pass through an abundance of coffee plantations before arriving at the wonderful Tad Fane resort, which overlooks the stunning Tad Fane falls with its two stunning cascades, framed against the Bolaven Plateau. You will spend the night at the beautiful resort.
