Angkor Temple Discovery

There's something magical about starting the day with a sunrise at Angkor Wat. As the first light of dawn bathes the ancient temple in hues of gold and pink, it it's impossible not to feel awe-struck by this iconic site's sheer beauty and grandeur.

Once we've explored Angkor Wat, it's time to switch gears! Hoping onto bikes, we pedal our way to Banteay Srei. The journey is part of the experience, as the route takes us through the lush Cambodian countryside dotted with rice paddies, small villages, and scenic landscapes. Banteay Srei, often called the ""Citadel of Women,"" is famous for its exquisite and well-preserved bas-reliefs. The pink sandstone used in its construction gives the temple an almost ethereal quality, and the intricate carvings are a testament to the incredible craftsmanship of its creators.

In the afternoon, a shuttle drives well and takes us south to Ta Prohm, a temple famous for its unique atmosphere. Unlike many other temples in the Angkor complex, Ta Prohm has been left largely as it was found. Towering trees and sprawling roots intertwine with the temple's structures, creating an otherworldly blend of nature and architecture. As we wander through the courtyards and towers, it's easy to feel like an adventurer discovering a hidden gem. We will return to Siem Reap in the afternoon.
