Discover Thanh Da's Scenic Countryside in Ho Chi Minh City

Join our special full-day tour to experience both the cultural heart and countryside charm of Ho Chi Minh City. Begin your journey by shuttle to visit to the Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine (FITO), where you'll learn about centuries-old healing practices and gain insight into Vietnam's rich medical heritage.

The Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine, also known as FITO, was built in 2003 and opened to the public in 2007. Founded by Mr. Tam, a man deeply passionate and knowledgeable about traditional medicine, the museum was created with the goal of preserving Vietnam’s rich medical heritage. Despite the high cost, Mr. Tam was committed to honoring the legacy of two of Vietnam’s most revered herbalists: Hai Thuong Lan Ong (18th century) and Tue Tinh (14th century). Today, FITO remains the only private museum dedicated to traditional medicine in bustling Ho Chi Minh City.

Visitors to the museum can explore both the herbs and the ancient medical practices used throughout Vietnamese history. The museum houses around 3,000 artifacts that trace the development of traditional healing methods. These include a wide array of tools used in preparing medicine—pots, jars, grinders, knives, and spoons—as well as pharmacy items like teapots, bowls, stamps, and scales. FITO offers a rare and immersive glimpse into the world of traditional Vietnamese medicine for anyone interested in the country’s cultural and scientific past.
Next, the van will drive you into the country's modern history with a deeper understanding of the Vietnam War, followed by a leisurely walk-through downtown Saigon. Along the way, admire the elegant colonial-era architecture—remnants of the French Indochina period—including the Central Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and other historic landmarks.

After lunch, we'll travel on shuttle 10km to Binh Quoi, Thanh Da Island, where we'll pick up our bikes for the afternoon cycling adventure. The routes are thoughtfully designed to highlight the island's natural beauty and cultural charm. Pedal through verdant fields and farms, soaking in the rural charm of Thanh Da. Stop to admire serene lotus lakes, perfect for photos or a moment of quiet reflection.

Ride single tracks through tranquil fisherman villages, where life moves at a slower pace. Opportunities to visit local temples, community houses, and interact with residents who warmly welcome visitors. As you weave through the island's zig-zagging routes: Pass by tiny houses constructed from local materials, giving insight into the traditional way of life. Meet local farmers, learn about their practices, and gain a deeper appreciation of Thanh Da’s rural lifestyle.

Enjoy picturesque views of the countryside, creating unforgettable memories of this hidden gem near Saigon. After your cycling journey, indulge in a delicious lunch at the iconic Binh Quoi Restaurant. Known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this meal is a perfect way to recharge and savor the flavors of the region. After lunch, we'll transport you back to downtown Saigon, where your half-day tour concludes. Expect to be back in the city with plenty of time to relax and reflect on your unique island adventure.
