After a leisurely breakfast, take time to observe the daily life of the Tay and H’mong ethnic communities in the peaceful village of Du Gia. When you're ready, begin the day’s ride toward the Lung Ho viewpoint, where romantic, untouched landscapes await—remote villages nestled among conical limestone mountains.
Pause along the roadside to explore the ruins of a French-era watchtower and military base, remnants of a colonial past. From there, continue cycling along rolling hills toward Mau Due, following a scenic and winding route that zigzags up the mountainside. Eventually, we turn off onto lesser-traveled back roads leading to Yen Minh, where we break for lunch.
In the afternoon, continue cycling toward Dong Van Ancient Town. About 10km beyond Yen Minh, we approach the Tham Pha Pass—a dramatic mountain road at 1,500 meters above sea level, known for its breathtaking views and challenging ascent.
Next, enter the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, recognized as the second-largest geological park in Southeast Asia after Malaysia’s Langkawi Geopark. This UNESCO-listed landscape offers a surreal and rugged terrain shaped by millennia of tectonic activity.
Enjoy a scenic descent through winding mountain roads and ethnic minority villages, where seasonal buckwheat flower fields add a splash of color to the grey karst surroundings. Arrive in Dong Van, check into the Hoa Cuong Hotel, and spend the rest of the day exploring the charm of the ancient town.
