Day
2
Tuy Hoa - Quy Nhon

We start to ride from the hotel on a tranquil coastal route. After a few km, we turn right onto the narrow road to lead us through sweet potato farms, tapioca and rice paddy fields, and small fishing villages. There are many stops on the way; meet locals at small markets selling fish and prawns. Enjoy the lovely ride on gentle hilly to a big fishing village. Stop for a break at a floating coffee shop by the sea. Then we carry on this adventure on the countryside track to Da Dia Reef. Dia Reef is a seashore area of uniformly interlocking basalt rock columns situated on the coast of An Ninh Dong Commune, Tuy An District, Phu Yen. It was created from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago; when the molten basalt flows met cold water, they solidified and shaped these rare polygonal formations due to thermal contraction effects. Afterward, we take small dirt tracks through small fishing farms and villages, where we observe plenty of bamboo basket boats and continue biking to Chi Thanh for lunch in town.

The roads in the afternoon are along sleepy rivers and rolling hills to the west of Quy Nhon. Racing along the Vietnam National Railways, we see many old colonial steel bridges as we bike through La Hai, remote hamlets, mountainous villages, and Van Canh small town. The roads have less traffic, undulating hillsides, rivers, and ethnic tribe villages. Stopping along the ways, see ethnic people raising cows, buffalos, and goats on farmlands and forested jungle hills. We will hop on the support vehicle as we finish the day's ride in a rural village near Dieu Tri Railway station for a- 30-minute transfer to Quy Nhon City.
