Environmental Sustainability Commitment

1. Our goal

At Vietnam Cycling Tours, we are deeply committed to operating responsibly and minimizing our environmental impacts. As a small business, we recognize that every action even small matters and we continuously strive to promote sustainability policy through our daily cycling operations, cycling activities and choices, and business partnerships.

2. Our scope

This policy applies to all employees in our management internally and encourages all contractors and supplier chain, and business activities, especially in cycling procurement and operations externally within the destinations.

3. Our Commitments

We aim to reduce our negative impacts at the office and within our cycling tour operations through the following measures:
Energy Use:

  • Turn off air-conditioner, lights, computers, and electric equipment when not in use.
  • Use energy-efficient appliances and lighting (e.g., LED bulbs) and promote less energy operations (e.g. acoustic bikes rather than electric bikes).
  • Encourage energy consumption reduction and continuously raise awareness in the office.

Waste Reduction:

  • Minimize paper usage through digital documentation and communication.
  • Reuse and recycle materials where possible.
  • Avoid single-use plastics in office and in our cycling tour operations.

Procurement:

  • Choose eco-friendly, ethical, and local suppliers where feasible.
  • Give preference to all products with minimal packaging and environmental certifications (e.g., FSC, Viet Energy Star).
  • Standardize sustainability and eco-friendly criteria in business contracts with suppliers where feasible.

4. Social Responsibility

We commit to actively share social responsibility to build up a sustainable society development.

  • Maintain fair labor practices and a healthy, inclusive workplace, purified drinking water, tea-break afternoon, free cycle use for daily staff travel mobility.
  • Engage with and support local communities and charitable initiatives or donations.
  • Promote transparency and accountability in all business collaborations and partnerships.

5.Cultural and Economic Impacts:

Preventing negative impacts on local culture and economy is essential in our proactive business activities, especially for tourism and hospitality. Here are practical actions we put into our business to implement:
Respect cultural traditions and promote authentic core values of locality

  • Support local economies, labor work force and service products (e.g. tour guide, homestay, …)
  • Promote tour options in collaboration with locality or NGOs (e.g. Know One Teach One (KOTO)

6. Continuous Improvement

We trust any improvement leads to a better environment.

  • Conduct an annual review of this policy and related practices.
  • Encourage employee engagement and input by contributing with sustainability initiatives.
  • Stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in sustainability for small businesses.

7. Communication

We ensure transparent communication can be reachable to all employees and staff members and available to clients, business partners, and stakeholders upon request. Sustainability goals and achievements may be shared on Travelife platform and any other cycling publicly as part of our commitment to transparency.

8. Statement from company director

Sustainability is part of how we do business—simple, practical, and aligned with our policy and core services provided. We believe that tourism should benefit both people and the global environment. We may be small, but we know how mindful tourism creates a big impact to our environment and sustainability.

Responsible Tourism

1. At Vietnam Cycling Tours, we are deeply committed to promoting sustainable and responsible travel. We believe that through increased awareness and mindful, eco-conscious decisions, we can help protect the Earth’s natural landscapes, cultural treasures, and environmental integrity for future generations.

2. We encourage our guests to make small yet impactful choices—such as using reusable water bottles and bags, avoiding single-use plastics, and supporting community-led conservation initiatives. These actions, when taken together, can lead to meaningful, lasting change.

3. By traveling with Vietnam Cycling Tours, you become part of a like-minded community that prioritizes environmental responsibility. Responsible tourism not only reduces your carbon footprint, but also plays a vital role in conserving ecosystems, protecting wildlife, and strengthening local economies. While tourism can place stress on the environment—through pollution, habitat loss, and biodiversity decline—we believe that by traveling thoughtfully, we can help preserve the beauty and integrity of the destinations we love to explore.
