Nestled on a small hill overlooking a stunning valley, Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge offers panoramic views of breathtaking terraced rice fields and nearby tribal villages. Rise early to savor the peaceful morning, take in the valley’s majestic natural beauty, and prepare to explore the scenic wonders of Khau Pha Pass and Tu Le—homeland to the Thai, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups.
After a hearty breakfast, begin your cycling journey by gently undulating through small hills for about 6 km to meet National Road 32. Turning right, continue climbing steadily for another 4 km to reach the top of Khau Pha Pass. Spanning 30 km, this is the longest and most rugged mountain pass on Road 32, connecting Van Chan District with Mu Cang Chai District. The summit rewards you with sweeping views of the mountainous valleys—perfect for stunning photographs.
From the pass, enjoy an exhilarating 30 km descent—the longest continuous downhill of the trip—followed by rolling terrain that trends downward all the way to Nghia Lo.
Take your time along the way with frequent stops to soak in the natural beauty, especially in Tu Le Commune (Van Chan District), surrounded by forested peaks and home to vibrant communities of Thai, Mong, and Dao people. Tu Le is renowned for its delicious sticky rice, a must-try local specialty.
Continue on to the picturesque villages of Ma Tun and Nam Bung, followed by the winding road through the spectacular Ban Hoi Valley, before reaching the town of Nghia Lo, where the day’s adventure concludes.
