After your breakfast at homestay, get ready for activities such as; boat ride through the forest, do fishing, traps fish by the nest, stop at the lepironia field, visit medical plant garden, visit a place where local produces herbal medicinal oils. We enjoy a boat ride through the forest; see peaceful scenery and wildlife of many kinds of plants; lotus plants, water lily, wild clambering plants, oily trees, eucalyptus, lepironi... Many animals and species of water creature; Swamphens, cormorant, egret, kingfisher, Raven, honey bee, bats perch, snakehead fish, cash fish, and so on, etc.
Lepironia articulata is known as grey sedge. It often grows well in acid sulfate soils. This plant is about 1 to 2 meters in height. These local couples are very famous and have used for thousand years in Vietnam as they have been used sleeping mates and handbags until now but kid’s school bags in the old days. Cajuput is the same mangrove family and cannot survive and grow well in wet, muddy soils. These trees play an essential role in Millions of typical houses in Mekong Delta since locals discovered them. It is because Mekong Delta is a wetland, fertile soils and muddy. Foundations of the house are needed to be reliable and robust, so cajuput is one of the cheap materials for locals to choose. These trees are strong forever and keep the home foundation more stable if kept in wet soil.
We’ll stop at lepironia field on the boat trip and visit a place where local produce herbal medicinal oils. We’ll spend time visiting farmland where many kinds of oily trees are grown here. Enjoy lotus tea and tapioca sourced with coconut juice. Walk to the field where medicinal oil plants are grown. Then we return to our boat to another place for kayaking. The water here is so clear that you could water plants at the bottom. Then we return to the forest center by boat and visit the Herbal medicinal oil research and development laboratory before checking out. Most local- Vietnamese live in rural areas using herbal medicinal oils when they got sick at their home. To get oil tree's leaves to team body when local get the fever. Herbal therapeutic oil is the best thing ways to apply on skins when spraining on legs or arms. Do check out, return to our vehicle by boat for another 25km riding through lush green farmland.
