Today marks another unforgettable day on our adventurous cycling journey. We set off to explore two of northern Vietnam’s most breathtaking regions: Hoang Su Phi and the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. This is not just a ride—it’s an immersion into the raw essence of nature, culture, and challenge.
Our route winds through fascinating roads that twist and climb over dramatic mountain passes. Each pedal stroke takes us higher, offering sweeping views that make us feel like we’re riding on the roof of the world. The terrain tests our endurance, but the rewards are unparalleled.
Hoang Su Phi greets us with its magnificent terraced rice fields—carved into the hillsides by generations of ethnic minority communities. This remote East-West stretch of Vietnam remains untouched by mass tourism. Life here moves to the rhythm of traditional farming, with locals still practicing age-old rice cultivation techniques. The landscape is serene, and the culture, deeply authentic.
From there, we ride onward to the legendary Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized wonder. This geopark lies near the Chinese border, where surreal limestone formations rise in conical shapes and plunge into deep, verdant valleys. The scenery here is mysterious and majestic—nature in its most dramatic form. Every kilometer today is a ride through history, geology, and culture. It's a journey that stirs the senses and humbles the soul.
