Nature lovers will be enchanted by the tranquil beauty of Tra Su cajuput forest, while Sam Mountain offers a perfect spot to relax and take in sweeping views of the Delta.

After your pickup in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), we begin the day with a comfortable one-hour drive in an air-conditioned van or bus to the peaceful countryside town of Tan An. From here, your cycling adventure begins.

Morning Ride: cycle along scenic backroads through charming old villages, expansive rice paddies, and vibrant plantations of dragon fruit and vegetables. This route offers an immersive glimpse into the daily life and agricultural richness of the Mekong Delta. We’ll pause midday for a hearty local lunch in My Tho City.

Miet Thu has remote hamlets located about 12 km from the sea, running parallel to the coastline. The villages stretch from U Minh Forest along the Trem River to Tac Cau in Rach Gia. In the past, reaching Miet Thu was challenging, as it was accessible only by small boats or long-tailed motorboats.

In the past, Miet Thu was known as a place filled with mosquitoes and wild animals. Mosquitoes buzzed like the sound of flutes, and leeches were as plentiful as noodles. People once lived surrounded by the tranquil sounds of monkeys and birds—but this is no longer the case today. Still, the area offers a glimpse into the traditional, peaceful, and simple life of southern farmers.

Today, however, access is much easier, thanks to asphalt back roads and winding, well-paved paths that connect village to village, along with convenient waterways. Most locals make their living through agriculture, livestock, and fishing.

The river remains central to daily life here. You can expect to see a variety of boats—from grocery boats and cargo vessels to water taxis and family long-tailed sampans—crisscrossing in every direction.

Today’s biking distance is flexible, allowing you to slow down and fully experience the sights, smells, and flavors of local life. The route includes several ferry crossings, and we will transfer to Rach Gia

After breakfast, we’ll take a-1.5 hour shuttle transfer along QL80 to a small town. From there, we’ll hop on our bikes and begin the day riding on paved roads alongside canals. After a few kilometers, we’ll turn onto narrow paths, cycling through Khmer villages, crossing rice paddies, and continuing toward fishing villages, viewing the karst landscape along the way.

Along the coast, we’ll make several stops to admire colorful fishing boats and capture plenty of photos. We’ll then continue along gently rolling terrain toward the karst mountains, stopping at pagodas before enjoying a coffee break by the beach at Hon Phu Tu in Kien Luong. The morning ride covers approximately 24 km.

This area is home to numerous spirit pagodas visited by local pilgrims throughout the year, offering a great opportunity to explore and experience local culture. We’ll have a local lunch here before resuming our ride toward Mo So Cave.

Following the coastline, we’ll turn onto dirt trails through beautiful farmland, cycling over rolling hills, crossing canals, and riding along smooth paths through rice paddies en route to Mo So Cave. After the visit, we’ll continue pedaling on paved roads that reconnect with the coast, where we can relax our legs and enjoy a scenic shuttle ride along Vietnam’s southern coastline to Ha Tien.

We’ll cycle through the fresh air along the river, surrounded by lush forest, and observe small long-tailed motorboats moving along the canals.

As we approach the mountains bordering Cambodia, the terrain becomes more rustic, with dirt paths winding through quiet hamlets shaded by palm trees. We’ll take breaks for sightseeing at the karst mountains, visit the ruins of Xa Xia Pagoda, and learn about the history of the Khmer Rouge period.

We’ll then ride toward the coast and continue cycling to Mui Nai Beach. Afterwards, we’ll follow the coastline back to Ha Tien town.

After lunch in town, we’ll take a 1.5-hour shuttle to Ba Chuc for a short visit to its memorial, which commemorates more than 3,000 victims. From there, we’ll resume cycling along gently rolling paved roads, passing cassava plantations, before continuing onto dirt paths through farmlands and palm groves.

Mr & Mrs Moham… (not verified)

Tue, 26 May 2026 - 08:23

Hello Tam,

I enjoyed the cycling tour very much. We had no issues with the bicycles, the gears changed smoothly, the brakes worked well and they seemed to be well aligned and maintained. Overall the bicycles were very comfortable and handled the paths and trails well. We enjoyed the sights and foods of the Mekong delta. The first few days the scenery seemed quite repetitive if there is a way to provide a bit more variety and variation that may be more enjoyable. We did very much appreciate the flexibility of our tour and it was great to be able to do the morning cycling routes and after lunch transfer to the hotel and then Mr Dat would take us on a walking tour in the evening before dinner. That was a great way to experience more of the culture and we got to eat more street food. We very much like being able to eat like the locals. Our driver was very nice and helpful and we felt safe on the rides. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable, patient and happy to provide the flexibility to our tour. We did find the afternoon cycles a bit too hot for us as we are not used to the heat of the region. The mornings were fine and it was nice to be able to relax in the afternoons at the hotel. Although we weren't able to do the homestay we appreciated the alteration to the tour and got to see the coastal area and even got to take a swim in the ocean. Another suggestion for when the homestay isn't available might be to have 2 nights in one stop and perhaps some other sort of cultural event, that might give cyclists an option to have a day off the bike and either do their own thing or have some other option of activity. But what we did was fine as well. We really like the food and Dat would try and find us new things to try throughout the tour. A food and cycling tour might be something to advertise this as or an idea for other tours as well. I really don't have anything else to add that is negative. The tour was well organized and we will highly recommend your company for any of our friends or relatives who would like a cycling holiday in Vietnam. If we decide to have a holiday in Vietnam again in the future we will definitely consider trying another of your tours. 23 - 31 Mar 2023

Thanks Sincerely, Diane
