Here's a breakdown of what to expect along the way, along with tips to make the most of your adventure.
Upon your arrival at Siem Reap Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to the heart of downtown Siem Reap. Take some time to relax or explore the city at your leisure before we gather for a delightful welcome dinner at one of the city's finest restaurants. Our team will introduce themselves during dinner and briefly overview the exciting itinerary ahead.
Begin your journey by departing from the hotel and cycling toward the Angkor Pass checkpoint on the paved road. Pedal on a shady, tree-lined road, you'll encounter the serene Kravan Temple and the impressive Banteay Kdei. Pause at the iconic Ta Prohm, where the massive roots of fig trees and sprawling creepers famously embrace ancient ruins. Take your time to explore and appreciate the mystical beauty of Ta Prohm. We'll continue cycling along the small circuit, passing by Ta Keo Temple, Chau Say Tevoda, and Thommanon Temple before reaching Angkor Thom, where the Terrace of the Leper King is. Stop at the renowned Bayon Temple and explore its stunning collection of stone faces, each radiating a sense of timeless serenity. Afterward, continue the day to Angkor Wat, completing the small circuit. Stop briefly at the South Gate of Angkor Thom to capture memorable photos. Finally, arrive at Angkor Wat, a colossal three-tiered pyramid crowned by five iconic lotus-shaped towers, rising 65 meters above ground level. Conclude your cycling adventure and return to Siem Reap for an overnight stay, carrying memories of an unforgettable exploration of Angkor's timeless wonders.
Today, we embark on an exciting journey through the scenic Cambodian countryside. After meeting the locals, we'll cycle along dirt roads, heading towards the boat station. Our route takes us through lush wetlands and along the Tonle Sap River, leading us to remote villages where life unfolds gently.
Board the boat for a serene cruise across Tonle Sap, Cambodia's largest freshwater lake. After about a 4-hour boat ride, we'll disembark, pick up our bikes, and continue our journey to explore the daily lives of the local communities living along the riverbanks and small tributaries. The afternoon ride covers approximately 25 km, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local culture and experience the rhythms of rural life.
In the evening, we'll arrive in Battambang, a charming town known for its colonial-style streets and vibrant markets. These are perfect for leisurely shopping and discovering hidden gems. For dinner, we'll visit Jann Bai, a renowned social enterprise restaurant often hailed as the best dining experience in Cambodia. This is an excellent way to conclude a day full of adventure and cultural immersion.
We begin our journey in Battambang, cycling along the countryside's red roads, occasionally tracing the river's path toward the Banan Temple. After a brief visit to the temple, we'll continue pedaling through rural farmlands toward Phnum Thippadei. The terrain here adds an adventurous edge to the ride, making the journey even more exciting.
Next, we'll cycle to Moung Ruessei, following a straightforward route along farming canals, which will help us navigate some of the more challenging terrain ahead. Along the way, we'll stop in local villages to meet the friendly residents and learn about the region's culture and traditions. It's an excellent opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local way of life and explore some of the area's highlight sights.
After a delicious lunch in the small town of Moung Ruessei, we'll board a shuttle to Pursat, where we'll check in at our hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and unwinding by the hotel's pool.
We'll start our day early with a scenic cycling journey along quiet back roads beside the river. As we pedal, we'll pass by charming small markets and local primary schools, getting a glimpse of daily life in the countryside. The route will then lead us onto dirt paths towards Kampong Luong Floating Village.
Upon arrival, we'll embark on a boat ride to explore the vibrant floating village and its bustling floating market, offering a unique perspective on life entirely dependent on the water.
Enjoy a lunch at a local spot, savoring regional flavors and relaxing after the morning's activities. In the afternoon, a shuttle transfer will take us to Udong, the ancient royal capital of Cambodia, from the 17th to 19th centuries. Here, we'll explore historical landmarks, ancient stupas, and stunning hilltop views.
Finally, we'll continue our journey with a transfer to Phnom Penh, concluding an enriching day of exploration, history, and culture.
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, explore Phnom Penh at your own pace. You may do some last-minute shopping, pick up souvenirs, or relax and soak in the city's vibrant atmosphere.
