My Son Hindu Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an excellent sample of the ancient Champa civilization in southern Vietnam. It was an independent state from around the 2nd to the 17th century when Vietnam took over. The impressive Hindu-themed ruins feature many beautiful stone sculptures, temples, and towers in the tropical jungle.
We start cycling from Hoi An, cross the Thu Bon River on Cam Kim Bridge, cycle through the farmlands of Cam Kim Island, experience rural life, enjoy rural scenery, and ride through paddies with ancient agriculture system canals. We explore endless vegetation farmlands and pass a carpentry village to see a traditional wooden boat building yard and handicrafts. Then we take footpaths through water palm through tiny fishing villages before staying on country back roads along the river, crossing Highway 1A, and cycling along Thu Bon River.
