Embark on a classic cycling holiday of 9 days/8 nights through the heart of Central Vietnam, showcasing the region’s UNESCO-listed treasures and breathtaking coastal landscapes. Discover the ancient Imperial City of Hue, rich in centuries-old palaces, temples, and royal heritage, before wandering the lantern-lit streets and timeless charm of Hoi An.

Pedal through peaceful countryside dotted with emerald rice paddies, fishing villages, and spectacular coastal back roads as you journey from Hoi An through Quang Ngai and Quy Nhon to the beachside city of Nha Trang. Along the way, immerse yourself in authentic local life, savor regional cuisine, and enjoy ever-changing scenery from mountains to sea. Begin our cycling holidays with a guided walking tour through the heart of Hue’s historic quarter, exploring the ancient Hien Nhan Gate and the majestic Forbidden Citadel — the cultural and historical centerpiece of the former imperial capital. After discovering the citadel, transfer by shuttle along the scenic banks of the Perfume River to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, a 17th-century riverside temple renowned for its timeless beauty and spiritual significance.

Continue to the elegant An Hien Garden House, a beautifully preserved traditional residence dating back to 1895, surrounded by tranquil landscaped gardens. From here, begin cycling through the peaceful countryside, crossing the Perfume River into the charming villages beyond the city. Stop at the historic Tiger Arena before continuing through the lush landscapes of Thuy Bieu Village.

Pedal along quiet riverside paths toward the historic Vong Canh Hills, then continue to the ornate Khai Dinh Tomb before enjoying a delicious lunch at one of Hue’s renowned local restaurants.

In the afternoon, cycle beside the scenic Trach River, crossing rural landscapes and passing the Nguyen Anh Tomb en route to the magnificent Minh Mang Tomb. Constructed in 1840, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed mausoleum is celebrated for its harmonious blend of strict Confucian architecture and serene natural surroundings. We begin the day at 8:15 AM with a welcome drink at Hai Café (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An Ancient Town; Tel: 3863210), our meeting point for today’s culinary experience.

Our morning starts with a visit to Hoi An’s vibrant local market, where you will experience the lively sights, sounds, and aromas of this bustling trading hub. Along the way, there will be opportunities to interact with local vendors and learn about the fresh ingredients that will later be used during the cooking class.

Next, we board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely 25-minute cruise along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This scenic journey offers wonderful glimpses of local river life, so keep your camera ready.

Upon arrival, we explore the school’s herb garden before joining a hands-on cooking class featuring some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s most celebrated dishes. The lesson lasts approximately two hours. Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before guiding us through preparing the recipes ourselves. The class also includes a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving and plate decoration techniques. Afterward, we sit down to enjoy the delicious dishes we have prepared.

Following lunch, guests are welcome to relax and enjoy complimentary use of the school’s 20-metre swimming pool. Towels and shower facilities are provided, so bringing a swimsuit is recommended.

Cooking Class Menu

  • Rice paper making

  • Fresh rice paper rolls with shrimp

  • Crispy Hoi An pancakes with shrimp, herbs, bean sprouts, and peanut sauce

  • Seafood salad with Tra Que herbs

  • Quang Nam-style fresh noodles with chicken

  • Food decoration: tomato rose and a Vietnamese hand fan

Vegetarian guests are provided with alternative ingredients where required.

Lunch also includes BBQ lemongrass beef served with local herbs, lettuce, and mustard leaf wraps (not included in the cooking demonstration).

We’ll return to the hotel by shuttle and enjoy swimming at the sandy beach for the rest of the day.

Today’s ride begins in the ancient town of Hoi An, following a series of carefully selected backroad routes into the countryside. After crossing the Thu Bon River via Cam Kim Bridge, we reach Kim Bong and Cam Kim Island, where peaceful rural landscapes and authentic local life await.

Enjoy a leisurely ride through vibrant villages, stopping to visit family-run workshops where you’ll learn how traditional sleeping mats are woven and observe local carpenters practicing centuries-old craftsmanship. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the quieter side of the Thu Bon River region.

Along the way, we’ll cross numerous small bridges linking island to island, pedalling through beautiful rice paddies and along peaceful country lanes beside the Truong Giang River. Frequent stops will allow time to explore tiny fishing villages, farmland, and fruit gardens, where farmers still use water buffalo for agricultural work.

The ride then continues toward the coast, with a scenic stretch along stunning beaches and past small local fish markets. We finish today’s cycling just outside Tam Ky before transferring into town for lunch at one of Tam Ky’s famous chicken rice restaurants.

In the afternoon, we transfer to the Son My Memorial for a guided visit. Afterward, continue by shuttle to the hotel, where you can relax and unwind by the pool.

After breakfast, we journey south toward the charming coastal town of Sa Huynh. Along the way, soak in peaceful river landscapes, bamboo-lined villages, and authentic scenes of rural life hidden deep within the backwaters. The route winds through tiny fishing hamlets, colorful wooden boats, meandering rivers, and expansive fish-farming rivers stretching toward the sea.

Board a small local ferry to cross the river, then continue cycling through lush vegetable gardens and quiet countryside trails before crossing another larger river. From here, we ride south along scenic back roads, passing secluded beaches, tranquil hamlets, ancient temples, pagodas, and emerald rice paddies — offering a rich glimpse into local culture and daily life. Much of today’s journey follows non-touristy rural roads, weaving through small markets, farmlands, and peaceful villages rarely visited by travelers.

En route, enjoy a scenic shuttle transfer to Sa Huynh Beach for lunch, with stops to explore traditional salt farms and coastal landscapes. In the afternoon, relax on a comfortable shuttle ride along beautiful coastal back roads toward the vibrant seaside city of Quy Nhon.

Our final day’s ride begins with a scenic coastal shuttle transfer to Ganh Do District, where we hop on our bikes and cycle across the remarkable Tiger Wooden Bridge — a nearly 1-kilometer-long bridge spanning the tranquil Phu Ngan River. Pedal through peaceful fishing villages, floating fish farms, and fertile countryside dotted with sweet potato fields and emerald rice paddies as we make our way toward the spectacular Da Dia Reef.

This extraordinary natural wonder stretches roughly 250 meters along the coastline and 100 meters inland, featuring an estimated 35,000 striking basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. The dark lava rocks rise in fascinating geometric shapes — hexagons, pentagons, circles, and polygons — resembling a giant honeycomb or stacks of perfectly arranged stone plates, giving the site its poetic name: “The Sea Cliff of Stone Plates.”

After exploring the dramatic coastal landscape, we continue cycling to An Hai, following the scenic shores of O Loan Lagoon. The route winds through quiet rural villages, cornfields, and tapioca farms en route to Tuy An. Here, we conclude our cycling adventure and board the shuttle for a comfortable transfer to Nha Trang, with lunch served along the way.
