It is served chilled, with other toppings such as fruit, or in bubble tea or other drinks. Outside Asia, it is sold in Asian supermarkets. Tam Hiep Island is the homeland of grass jelly herbs.

Full Itinerary

Cycling to Alluvia Chocolate farm
Saigon - Can Duoc - Cho Gao - Tam Hiep Island

You are picked up at you locations for one hour transfer to starting point of cycling, outside of Can Duoc town. We will ride on small back road through jasmine rice paddy field and you will immerse in the local life. Take a small ferry crossing Vam Co River then we continue our riding on small trail, country roads alongside river. This is a pleasure time you can enjoy scenery, local life and meet friendly locals working on shrimp, fish farms on unique paths along Upper Mekong River. Then, another ferry will take you to fruit orchards where carry on our adventure biking to Alluvia chocolate farm. We ride pass the farmlands of vegetable fields. This is a chance you learn about all the steps in the chocolate making process, to be welcoming and seeing the farm of cacao trees. You are also could see locals make chocolate at the factory of the family. After lunch, we take a short ride to river to have a ferry ride us to Island, just another short ride allow us to take the last ferry of today to Tam Hiep Island. It’s a small and nice island for you to stay a night and to see how busy of the water transport. Enjoy coffee and sunset by Mekong River.

Tam Hiep Island - Ben Tre - My Tho - Saigon

Tam Hiep is a little Island so there are many inhabitants living there. Most of locals As you know that Ben Tre is famous with coconut trees but you will find Tam Hiep Island interesting as home of many lush and lovely islands located on the basin of the mythical river of Mekong. It's really completely different from many parts in Ben Tre. After your breakfast, you’ll explore the countryside surrounding Tam Hiep with locals; you will fall in love with hospitality and a peaceful island. We hope you will find it interesting. Visit the largest garden of grass jelly (Tiliacora triandra). 

We walk to village, visit farmland of orchards. This surprised you have to see to believe! It's a largest grass jelly garden on this Island. This is special chance you pick up the herb jelly leaves to make your own drink. It is said that this leaf is very healthy and good for liver. It will not take much time to make it into jelly. Then we will enjoy a sampan rowing boat on small Natural River through this island. Return homestay to do check out, load your luggage on a boat which will be waiting you at a small natural creek before you take a walking tour to villages. After you explore local villages, farmland and making grass jelly, you will enjoy a sampan boat paddled. Boat will take you slowly natural creeks, through water palms. Then you get on your luggage boat for a big river crossing to further side of Ben Tre. Meet your driver and load your luggage on van before the last day ride. We start biking through villages of Giao Hoa, Giao Long and Quoi Son. Enjoy easy ride on narrow country paths, visit some temple, pagodas and make some stops at family workshop; produce sweets, coconut handicraft and so on. Lunch will be served at local home before the afternoon ride starting in Tho and end up in Tan An. The afternoon ride is about 15 – 23km through organic vegetable field and fertile farmlands before we return to Saigon in the afternoon.

There is only one A/C 16 seater van to take up all riders, luggage & suitcases and bikes. There are four rows of seating for passengers on A/C 16 seater van.Two people seat on each row. The third row is for luggage and suitcases. The last row of seat will be fold up so all bikes will be uploaded here.

A medium group tour: from 5 to 7 people

There will be 2 vehicles to support riders on entire trip. One 16 seater van to take up all riders, luggage & suitcases. Another truck to carry all bikes, spare bikes, tool kits, ice box to keep cold drinks....

A large group tour: 8 to 14 people

One minibus to take up all riders including luggage & suitcases and one truck to carry all bikes, spare bikes, water, cold drinks and snacks...Ice boxes

A group has more than 15 riders and more than 20 people

We provide 2 vans and 1 minibus and one truck to escort large groups of riders and help ensure their safety. Our pro guide will motivate a team with support vehicles to bring the best services to riders.
